An exciting day of discoveries awaits us! We’ll start with a visit to the Royal Monastery of the Barefoot Carmelites, where the king resided in the 16th century and the first Cortes were convened. Later, this monastery became a refuge for girls and widows from wealthy families, who brought their fortunes with them.
Next, we’ll head to the Opera Square, where the construction of the metro revealed a fully preserved fountain and part of a medieval aqueduct that once supplied water to the city.
Our journey continues to the Chamberí metro station, now a museum. We’ll step back in time to the 1960s and experience the atmosphere of that era.
Afterwards, we’ll hop back on the metro and travel to the modern, multi-level Chamartín station. On level -1, we’ll explore the metro museum, which showcases train exhibits that have transported passengers over the past 100 years.
We promise this day will be unique and filled with unforgettable experiences. Sometimes, it’s worth straying off the beaten path… and going underground 😊
