We invite you on a unique walk through Kazimierz – one of the oldest and most extraordinary districts of Kraków. For centuries, two cultures and two religions – Christian and Jewish – coexisted here, creating the district’s distinctive atmosphere.
We begin at the Church on the Rock (Na Skałce), the site of St. Stanislaus’s martyrdom and a national Pantheon, where notable figures such as Jan Długosz, Stanisław Wyspiański, and Czesław Miłosz are buried. Next, we visit the Church of Corpus Christi, a monumental Baroque building filled with symbolism and history.
From the Christian part of Kazimierz, we move to the former Jewish quarter, where we explore its most important synagogues: the Old Synagogue, Remuh Synagogue with its historic cemetery, the High Synagogue, Kowea Itim le-Tora – a former house of study – and the Tempel Synagogue, a symbol of openness and modernization within Kraków’s Jewish community.
The walk concludes at Plac Nowy (New Square), the beating heart of Kazimierz – a place alive with the scents, sounds, and energy of contemporary Kraków. Here, among cafés, bars, and the iconic okrąglak (round building), you can feel the everyday rhythm of this remarkable district.
